I have never been in a movie, but I wish more movies and tv shows would take more advice from scientists sometimes… One of my pet peeves is when they have an MRI scanner and they press a button to turn the magnet on – it is actually always on! Having said that, some sci-fi movies are actually pretty cool from a physics thought-experiment point of view… like Interstellar and Ad Astra 🙂
Yes! I was a background actor in a French movie called “Black Venus”. I was 12 at the time, I just played the part of a child running around in the street and in the crowd 😀
I never played in a scientific movie, but the one I would recommend the most is “Contagion”! It’s commonly considered to be the most accurate scientific movie in my research field (epidemiology, the study of infectious diseases in the population)
I wish!! But no I’ve never been in a movie, but you can see a video of me on YouTube talking about science: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXJLri9VYCs
Maybe one day I’ll make it as an extra in a Marvel film?
I’ve been in a few promotional videos for some of the work I’ve done, mainly as a background character looking busy and doing science, but a couple of interviews. I’ve also been on the radio and been interviewed about some sponsorship I got of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
No, I wish! I was only on local tv news a few times when journalists visited archaeological digs or museum exhibitions I worked on. I was usually in the background, apart from once where I got interviewed (I was so embarassed, but my parents were so happy! 🙂 )
