Haha…I’m not sure what you mean by “not working”. Like lots of people I’ve been working at home during the lockdown. If you mean why am I on the internet chatting to you – then this is part of my work. So, one of the things we like to do as scientists which is really important is to encourage other people to think about science and doing science at school and as a career. Chatting to you guys about what we do and what it’s like to be a scientist will hopefully make you think about studying science.

If you mean why don’t I go I the lab much any longer (like it says in my profile) – that’s because I’ve been a scientist for a long time (about 28 years). When you get to that level of experience there are other jobs you do in science, and I spend my time helping people design experiments, looking at data and managing our projects.

I hope that asnwers your Q?
