Hey 🙂 Did you know that the concept of the zodiac originated in Babylonian astrology? The Babylonians divided the calendar year as well as the day into 12. The reason for using the number 12 so much was that it’s actually a pretty useful number – you can divide it into three parts, four parts, six parts, and two parts. You can also count to 12 on one hand! If you look at your four fingers (palm up), you’ll notice that each finger is split into three sections and if you add these up for the four fingers that comes to 12 sections overall! Have you ever thought why about why the number 10 is where the numbers switch to a 1 and a 0? It’s pretty arbitrary really… But back to the zodiac…
.
As a scientist, I should probably mention that astrology is regarded by many people as “pseudoscience” – this is something that claims to be factual but is incompatible with the scientific method. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrology_and_science
.
Having said all that, I’m an Aries so I often get bogged down in the details! 😉
I’m a Virgo – if you believe that the position of various planetary objects millions of miles from the earth can affect the personality of a lifeform based on when it was born, randomly dictated by a biological porcess. 🙂
