That I get to help people. Firstly patients as someone who works in a hospital, but I work in education now and that means I get to support a lot of staff and that’s really important to me. My most satisfying feelings are from seeing someone succeed and knowing I was able to help.
I get a lot of satisfaction from having specialist skills and knowledge that I can apply in ways that vary every day to make a positive impact on the world!
My day to day work is very variable and each day presents me with something new, often this is both the best thing and the worst thing. As well as this I like helping my lab colleagues do their research to.
The thing I like the most about my job is that I feel like I learn something new all the time. Either from my own research results, from reading about others’ research or about new methods, or from simply discussing science with other scientists in my department, even if they don’t work in the same field as I do!
Hi Sara,
I really enjoy interacting with the students on our course and teaching them how to use the equipment. I think it is great that we have lots of equipment which is also used in a more applied setting so our students get to use things which are used in the “real world” sport, exercise and health science.
Thanks!
Neil
