Hi! I did definitely struggle with some subjects. I actually failed my prelim exams for Maths and Physics quite spectacularly (I got about 20% in both). My teachers wanted me to drop those subjects but I carried on with them and did some extra work and managed to get a C in both which I was delighted with!
I did struggle with some subjects, and also with some of the other non-academic aspects of school at times. But it’s always worth sticking to it! Things change as you get older and sometimes things just start to click. In science (and I’m sure it’s true of other things) – hard work, enthusiasm and perseverance count for an awful lot – perhaps even more than academic ability.
I did, it also didn’t help that I didn’t go a lot in my earlier years. I’m a pretty average student (all C’s) though I generally was good at subjects and knew a lot of things, I was quite bad at exams and writing. The same can be said for my University days too.
