My CV
-
Education:
I went to school in Almeria, my hometown. I then moved to Barcelona (Spain), where I did my undergrad in Genetics in the Autonomous University of Barcelona. In 2019 I moved again to Norwich this time, where I started my PhD in wheat genetics.
-
Work History:
I volunteered at the World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona (2013). I also spent 3 weeks in Nijmegen (The Netherlands) collaborating with an institution for people with severe multiple constraints and mental disabilities (2019).
As undergrad student I have also done several internships in research centres in Spain and in the UK.
My first paid job was in a breeding company (KWS) based in Cambridge, where I worked as a harvest assistant during the Summer of 2019.
-
Current Job:
I started my PhD at John Innes Centre almost 2 years ago now.
-
About Me:
I am a 25 years old PhD student from Spain, but currently based in Norwich. When I am not in the lab, you will probably find me swimming or painting with watercolours.
-
My Typical Day:
The first thing I usually do when arrive at the institute is to check my emails. Maybe there is something very important that needs my attention! Next, I go to the glasshouses to have a look at my wheat plants. There I gather information and collect samples I will later on need for the experiments I will do in the lab. Some other days, I am just on the computer analyzing the data I have collected.
